PVG Group supports women !

Are familly and cutting edge two ,incompatible qualties in a hotel Group sush as PVG ? Not according to the statistic, as women working for hate-savoyard group have evrey chance of occupying high-ranking posts. We sat down  with tree of them.

Katy Lafont, Manager of the Hotel Beauregard****

Katy Lafont has been working at the PVG Group
for several years, and April 2016 was appointed manager of the hôtel Beauregard -the Pollet - Villard family's first establishment. She told us about her story.

"I knew a little about the Hotal Beauregard as I had  worked there as an intern during my studies", says Katy.

She then decided to develop her professionnal background by working abroad, before returning to the Haute-Savoie région.

"I wanted my lifestyle to be more in line with my strong family values and love of the mountains. And that's when the PVG adaventure began."
Upon retourning to the region, Katty first workedcc as a Maître D at the à Beauregard.
"I started in the restaurant bacause I love working with others, but it'is true that you hace to be more determined as a woman in that environment" she says.
Katy was the promoted within the group  to become restaurant manager. Philippe Gourgaud, managing director of the PVG Group , saw in Katy a combination of buisness sense and interpersonal skills, and offered her the job as hotel manager in 2016.
Katy had a beautiful little boy during the year following her promotion, and dived headfirst into her sacond job as a new mother ! After returning to work inSaptember 2017, she said "I was delighted to see that management accepted my pregnancy, as finding a healthy balance between a personal and professional life is very imprtant."

Élodie Ternisien, Manager of the hôtel Alpen Roc***

Élodie Ternisien has worked for the PVG  Group for 14 years, and told us about her impressive career.

"I started at Alpen Roc in 2003 with patisserie intership. I came back for a season during the summer, then again the following winter, and the rest is history," she says.
Philippe Gourgaud then appointed her hotel manager in 2016.
Evenn though Elodie has never felt that being a woman was an obstacle in her a career, she does admit that she has to be more authoritative. "You need a strong character", she says.  "Although there are an incrising number of women in the hotel sector today, some people still struggle to accept female authority. However, it shouldn't hold you back, but instead motivate you even more ! We have to show everyone what we're capable of", she says. "As women we tend to have a better eye for detail, and we can offer a different vision."

Needless to say, Elodie in incredily successful as the hotel manger at Alpen Roc.

" The top management at the PVG Group has long understand that skills and perfomance have nothing to do with twice about appointing women to high-ranking positions, even those who might be consedering having children. It sets a real example for others companies."

Céline Lecamus-Locatelli, Manager of the hôtel Au Coeur du Village*****, Relais et Châteaux

Céline Lecamus-Locatelli join the PVG group in April 2016 as the manager of the prestigious  five-star hotel Au Coeur du Village,
in La Clusaz - a member of the Relais&Châteaux network and the only one of its kind in the resort. "I wanted to work in the luxury hotel sector, and I was well awore of the PVG group's exceptional reputation. That's where everything started," she says.

"When I started my career  in the hotel buisness, there were very few women in management positions. That's one of the reasons I firt tried to work in sales. Taday I meet more and more women in top roles; there are no longer posts reserved exclusively for men. What's more , jobs previously aimed at  women such as reception staff are now increasingly open to men."

Céline is delighted with her positions as hotel manager, and has enjoyed developing her career within the PVG group, where every woman counts. Let's just hope this progress takes hold  in all other buisness sectors !
