The Rreblochon & Craft Festival

What would a summer in La Clusaz be without its traditional "Reblochon Festival"?

On 7 August 1958, Reblochon de Savoie finally achieved PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) status, a guarantee of quality for buyers, because this distinction means that production can be better controlled thanks to strict conditions for production and maturing. It also means that the unique expertise of this profession, the pride of the region, can be recognised and perpetuated!

But let's get back to our Reblochon Festival!

As tradition dictates, the day begins with an open-air mass (10.00 am), before everyone gathers for an Apéro-Concert (11.15 am), a time for conviviality and sharing.
In the afternoon (2.30pm), young and old alike will be able to admire the parade of floats (with farmers from the region taking part in tableaux vivants of bygone days, in period costumes), as well as watch genuine farmhouse Reblochon cheese being made (5pm) in a huge copper cauldron, and folk dance demonstrations (6pm), all topped off with a Savoyard snack.

Don't miss the milking of the cows and goats (5.00pm) and the sale of regional products, especially Reblochon!

The festivities will end on a high note with a Savoyard meal (7.00pm) and a concert!

This unforgettable family day will provide immeasurable support for the region's farmers and craftspeople!

See you on Sunday at Champ du Bossonnet in La Clusaz for a giant tartiflette!
